Editorial Policy
California State Cash publishes money-adjacent guidance, so we hold every page to a fixed editorial standard — and we show our work.
Statute-first method
Every legal claim on this site traces to the primary source: the California Deferred Deposit Transaction Law (Cal. Fin. Code § 23000 et seq.) and the rate-cap bracket in Cal. Fin. Code § 22303, enforced by the DFPI (dfpi.ca.gov). When our summary and the statute ever diverge, the statute wins — and the page gets corrected.
Calculation standards
- Payday cost: fee = 15% of face value; APR = (fee ÷ amount) × (365 ÷ days). No rounding beyond cents on fees, nearest whole percent on APR.
- Installment payments: standard amortization formula at the stated APR; we publish the total-of-repayments next to every monthly payment.
- Representative, not offered: payment tables on our pages are illustrative examples at typical market rates — your contract states the exact terms, and we say so on every table.
What we do not do
- We do not publish lender reviews we cannot verify, ratings without real sources, or "editor's choice" placements.
- We do not present tribal lending as risk-free; our tribal guides carry the sovereignty, arbitration, and total-cost warnings on every page.
- We do not give legal or financial advice — our pages explain the law and the math so you can judge offers yourself.
Review schedule
All pages carry a content review date (currently 2026-09-30), shown in the site footer. Any change to California lending law triggers a sitewide review of affected pages within 30 days. Found an error? Report it — corrections are applied and the review date moves.
